1. Why did you decide to stay in the share house?

After 2 months of living alone in Nagoya, I chose Sharehouse180 because I thought it would be a good way to immerse myself in Japanese culture, practice the language, and share experiences and ideas with people from other countries. It’s also an affordable way to live in a great location!

2. How do you spend the time in the share house?

Life in the share house is very comfortable. Everyone in the house gets along well, and there’s almost always someone in the common area for me to have dinner, practice my Japanese, or just relax and watch TV with (even though I don’t understand most of Japanese TV ). Also, my housemates are all very considerate, and there are never any issues with people not cleaning up after themselves or being too loud at night. We sometimes organize small parties among our housemates, but daily life is very relaxing.

3. How did your lifestyle change?

Share house life has given me the chance to immerse myself in Japanese life and meet people from all over the world. It has also given me the motivation to get serious about learning Japanese! And, the share house has given me a group of people who I can come to for advice about daily life in Japan. Sometimes, life in a foreign country can be difficult, but now that I have locals and experienced foreigners around me, life is a lot easier! My housemates are super helpful, and I always ask them things like, “Is there a …. around here?” or “How do I ….?”

4. What do you want to try and How do you see yourself from now on?

I really hope that one day I’ll be able to join in when my housemates are having conversations in Japanese. And I also want to be able to watch Japanese movies with them!

5. Message to people who are thinking about share house?

Q5: I really recommend Sharehouse180. The houses have everything you need, the common areas get cleaned once a week, and it’s a great way to meet people and learn about different cultures. It’s also a really good way to practice Japanese, English, and any other language the people in the house speak!
